Are you seeing the Future?

I had an interesting conversation with a friend who is a trained trichologist - loosely translated, a doctor who specializes in hair.

An experienced hair technician herself, she explained how a few years back she had made the decision to take her skills to the next level, and thereby set herself apart from her peers.

That decision led her to invest $5,000usd to gain her certification as a qualified Sisterlocks loctitian (sister-locks are natural micro locks that are especially woven to achieve maximum protection and hair growth for African hair). My jaw dropped - $5,000 to learn how to do one hairdo šŸ’‡ā€ā™€ļø!! ??

But when she explained how much she gets paid to do just one client, I realised that she had already more than made up that investment many times over since then. I then understood her genius - She had seen the future and was cashing in way before her competitors understood the value of this unique skill.

You see, as long as your skill level remains at a level similar to that of your peers, your asking price cannot be too different from theirs. Your earnings are largely determined by your worth - and your worth is mainly determined by how skillful you are at solving complex problems.
