Are you seeing the Future?
I had an interesting conversation with a friend who is a trained trichologist - loosely translated, a doctor who specializes in hair.
An experienced hair technician herself, she explained how a few years back she had made the decision to take her skills to the next level, and thereby set herself apart from her peers.
That decision led her to invest $5,000usd to gain her certification as a qualified Sisterlocks loctitian (sister-locks are natural micro locks that are especially woven to achieve maximum protection and hair growth for African hair). My jaw dropped - $5,000 to learn how to do one hairdo 💇♀️!! ??
But when she explained how much she gets paid to do just one client, I realised that she had already more than made up that investment many times over since then. I then understood her genius - She had seen the future and was cashing in way before her competitors understood the value of this unique skill.
You see, as long as your skill level remains at a level similar to that of your peers, your asking price cannot be too different from theirs. Your earnings are largely determined by your worth - and your worth is mainly determined by how skillful you are at solving complex problems.

You don’t have to be called “prophet” to be able to read the market and understand it’s dynamics. Just by reading the news, listening to what is ailing your clients, watching global trends, and then being able to join all the dots puts you at an incredible vantage point.
This ability to ‘see the future’ before it happens is what will make you more valuable to your company and to your clients.
